Sans Jama

Skill level: All

Sans Jama is a workaround for making hot air balloons and political draperies like they have at conventions. The name comes from the fact I don't use Jama in the process. Use your imagination to create your own items.

Open new file, size 400x400. Click on the image to download the preset, then open it in PI. Right click and duplicate 3 times. Click on the pick tool, then Ctrl Shift A to select all. Click on Object, Align, Center All.

Open easy palette, layer manager. Select the top layer, and using either the transform tool or object, properties, reduce the height to approximately 25 percent of the original.
Select the second layer, and reduce to 50 percent of original.
Repeat with third layer, but make it 75 percent.

Select all and right click, group. You should have an image similar to this one. Drag a copy to easy palette, if you like.

To make the bubble similar to what I have at the top: Right click and dup.
Align both groups.
Select and rotate one group 90 degrees.
Change merge properties of that group to difference.
Add a color to that box using the linear or elliptial gradient tool.
Dup that one again, align and rotate 45 degrees.
Dup that one and rotate 90 degrees.
Now select all, and you can use perspective tool to make it an ellipse.

Thanks for trying this. Please email me if you have a problem.
