Split Shadow

PI5 R/C / Split Shadow or Object/Split Shadow
PI6 Object/Split Shadow ONLY
PI7 and 8 R/C / Split Shadow or
Object/Split Shadow

Split shadow allows you to separate a shadow from its' original object, allowing you to effectively add another shadow, or move the shadow around.

Your object must have a shadow already attached to split. With the object selected, click on the Object menu, in PI6. Or R/C / Split Shadow in PI5,7 or 8. Split shadow is about 3/4 down on the object menu. If it's not highlighted, that means that you have no object selected, or that your selected object has no shadow.

1. Your graphic must have a background..you can't really have a shadow without something for it to fall on. So no transparent backgrounds. I've played quite a bit with this, and it doesn't work well. They all turn black and get the jaggies badly, like these examples to the right.

And like the lower example, soft edges well, just don't do it...However, if anyone can prove me wrong, please do. We'd all love to see a good shadow. By the way, these boxes are white by design. As bad as it looks here, you should see it in blue...
